Meet the Owner

 

Hi, my name is Birdie Murphy and I'm the owner of Dancing With Dogs pet care service. My love of animals started at a very young age. I spent a lot of time with Sammy, the family dog, as a child. Though spending time with Sammy was wonderful, I wanted to do more.

I began working with animals at Judy's Pet Care Center, a boarding kennel, where I took care of many different dogs and cats while their owners were away. I also assisted in the grooming center of the kennel with such tasks as bathing, cleaning ears and trimming nails.

While living in Minneapolis I worked as kennel staff and training assistant at Hearing and Service Dogs of MN. Also at that time, I worked as a dog walker for Creature Comforts where I gained experience handling many dogs.

My work with horses through The Hitching Company has also contributed to my animal handling skills. I currently own two beautiful dogs of my own- Darwin, a border collie, and a cattle dog (AKA blue heeler) named Emma.
